Shrink Leather

A hybrid process of scratch-resistant tanning and embossing

Shrink Leather is developed using North American leather and tanned locally in Japan at Himeji, an area known for its expert leather craftsmanship. To create a natural look while minimizing the scratches, wrinkles, and creases of leather expression, a calculated ratio of tannins and chrome is used to create a uniform texture. In addition, the leather is heat-pressed with elegant shrink embossing, which tightens up the material, so it is light and durable. The vibrant finish of the leather is contrasted by an antique gold back plate with silver rings.

Leather that's durable and long-lasting

Shrink leather material has a natural and soft luster. By applying a special shrink embossing, the process minimizes the irregularities, scratches, and wrinkles of natural leather, and they become less noticeable. The result is a lightweight and flexible leather that can complement an on-the-go lifestyle. This leather is also more scratch-resistant, durable, and less susceptible to stains compared to other leathers.

Expert craftsmanship in the flexible spine

The spine of the leather binder is strained and shaved meticulously to make it easy to open and close. Since we use authentic leather, the density of the transition varies depending on the parts of the leather. The thickness of the leather can vary from piece to piece because the craftsmen are making the products one by one according to the condition of the leather. Please enjoy it as the unique character of real leather.

The charm of leather products

Leather is a natural material from animals, so it has individual differences and flavors that cannot be found in man-made products. The expression of the leather is not uniform due to blood vessels, small scratches, linear wrinkles, or uneven color bands while undergoing processing. This is not a defective product, but a sign of real leather. PLOTTER retains the individual differences of leather to show the charm of leather.
