Genuine leather meets elegance. A smooth 5-ring leather binder with rose gold copper-colored backplate. Liscio is a tanned, oil-smooth authentic Italian leather that allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of leather aging. The leather is prepared using a faithful recreation of a traditional Italian method, called the Vachetta process, to get the most out of the natural aging that occurs. The leather is slowly and carefully infused with oil so that the leather becomes more lustrous with use. The more you use it, the more shiny, buttery smooth, and comfortable it becomes.

Mini 5 is the ultimate compact size that is easy to carry around for all occasions. It fits easily in your palm, and you can slide it into shirt pockets or a small pouch. Minimalist, light, and thin, Mini 5 Size opens up the possibility of capturing ideas and thoughts wherever you go.

Note: The backplate is made of brass and plated with rose gold copper color. Plating may come off due to friction and will exhibit the natural oxidation and discoloration of the brass material. Please enjoy the natural aging of the brass characteristic alongside the leather. We recommend inserting no more than 80 pages of PLOTTER original DP refill paper to ensure the longevity and functionality of the hardware.

Liscio is tanned, oil-smooth Italian leather that allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of leather aging. Using only the rarest part of the cow, the shoulders, the leather is slowly and carefully infused with oil so that it becomes more lustrous with use. Each piece of leather is carefully tanned, then oiled with cow leg oil and dyed. The result is a ring leather binder that holds an enticing scent that is long-lasting. The more you use it, the more it becomes shiny, moist, and comfortable in your hand.

A 1000-year legacy of superior leather-making

The official name of the leather, “Minerva Liscio”, comes from the long-established tannery BADALASSI CARLO in Tuscany, Italy. The leather is prepared using a faithful recreation of a traditional Italian method, called the vachetta process, to get the most out of the natural aging that occurs. Made from very rare and valuable cow shoulder leather, this method was passed down for 1,000 years and was once discontinued.

Expert craftsmanship in the leather and spine

Faithful to the name of the series, “Liscio” means “smooth” or “smoother” in Italian. We employed the highest quality Italian craftsmanship to create a single piece of leather with even thickness. Since the leather is top grain, the density of the transition varies depending on the parts of the leather. To keep the beauty of the leather as even as possible, not only on the surface but also on the underside, the craftsmen repeatedly insert the skiving blade and shave off the useless pile. The light or dark markings on the reverse side are evidence that each piece is carefully crafted and authentic. The leather binder’s spine is strained and shaved meticulously to make it easy to open and lies flat at 180 degrees. The elegant Liscio leather is complemented by the dignified rose gold copper-colored backplate.

The unique marks of authentic leather

Each Liscio 6-Ring Leather Binder holds some degree of unique markings that belong to you only. PLOTTER purposefully retains the individual differences of leather to show the charm of leather. Leather is a natural material from animals, so it has individual differences and flavors that cannot be found in man-made products. The expression of the leather is not uniform due to blood vessels, small scratches, linear wrinkles, or uneven color bands while undergoing processing. This is not a defective product, but a sign of real leather. We hope you will enjoy the unique characteristics of your ring leather binder, including its original flaws, and the way it changes over time. This product comes with a certificate of quality. The tag, issued by the Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Association, guarantees that the leather is vegetable-tanned without the use of chemicals.

Maintenance and care

No special maintenance is required because the leather will absorb the natural oil from your hand through frequent handling. Simply give the surface a light brushing to remove dust. Brush the leather with a special brush made of horse or pig bristles, or wipe it dry with a soft cloth to remove dust on the surface of the leather. If the leather feels dry after setting it aside for a long time, you may apply only a small amount of leather cream and lightly buff the surface with a brush and a clean cloth. Excessive use of leather cream may cause stains, discoloration, and a rapid change in texture.
