PLOTTER is coming to Los Angeles this February! We’re excited to kick off this new year with two pop-up events in California this spring. Meeting PLOTTERs and new friends at physical events has always been fun and inspiring. These events are also great opportunities to learn about the PLOTTER system, touch and experience different leathers, participate in customization events, shop special items, and get to meet fellow PLOTTER users.
The stunning coast of California is home to diverse communities and creativity that results in new technologies and innovation. We’re excited to meet you at the California Pen Show and listen to your creative ventures. The PLOTTER team from Japan will also be joining us in Los Angeles as we meet fans at California Pen Show (2/16 – 2/18/2024), and at a following pop-up at FLAX Pen to Paper (2/19/2024).
California Pen Show 2024 Pop-up Event – February 16th – 18th
PLOTTER is pleased to attend the California Pen Show for the second year in a row. Pen shows typically bring together hundreds of users and collectors of fountain pens, inks, paper, and other writing instruments. We will be sharing our passion with paper lovers and creatives from different fields. PLOTTER USA team will be exhibiting at the California Pen Show from Friday until Sunday, February 16th – 18th.

At the event, we hope that visitors will be able to directly touch and feel the tools produced by PLOTTER. You can see and experience different PLOTTER samples and imagine how they can be used for your lifestyle.

PLOTTER Leather Binder Customization Event
The PLOTTER team from Japan will be bringing one of our fans’ favorite events – Live leather binder customization where you can mix and match your favorite leather and backplate to assemble a unique PLOTTER. This experience will be available at the California Pen Show Pop-up from 2/16 – 2/18, and at FLAX Pen to Paper on 2/19.
You can choose from a lineup of leathers unique to the event such as Scratch Shoulder (Grey, Blue, Orange, and Purple) and Chromexcel® (Brown, Natural). Then you can select a preferred backplate color (Gold, Rose Gold, Black, or Silver) to have the PLOTTER team assemble it in person.
Enjoy the vibrant color variations of Scratch Shoulder leather. This premium Italian leather is made by Virgilio Conceria Artigiana in Ponte a Egola, Tuscany, Italy and has a robust texture due to a scratching process. It is vegetable-tanned and dyed with oil, so the more you use it, the more you can enjoy its natural luster and color changes over time.
Chromexcel is a leather produced by Horween, a company established in 1905 in Chicago, U.S.A. The leather is made by a process that has been unchanged for more than 90 years, in which an original blend of oils and fats is infiltrated into the leather over time. The leather is also able to enjoy a color change due to the pull-up process, which is one of the charms of this leather. It is also known as “brown-colored leather” because it is “hill dyed”, which means that only the surface of the leather is dyed (i.e., no base dyeing is done).
All the leather types are limited in quantities, and the combinations are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Each day of the event, customers can preview the leather and choose their favorite expression and backplate combination. Before the event, an online appointment* calendar will be open for the customer to book a time to ensure their place in the queue. An online appointment is required for Friday 2/16. From 2/17 – 2/18, we will have sign up sheets available at the table on a first come first served basis.

The appointment link will go live here on this page from 1/22/2024 at 9:00 AM PT and will be closed by 2/5/2024 at midnight.
You have 6 minutes in each appointment block to preview the full collection and choose a leather color in your desired size as well as the backplate color. Payment will be collected at the end of the appointment, and you will be given a pickup time to watch it be assembled and collect the leather binder on the same day.
Untaken spots will be available for walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited quantity available for each day. Since there is a limited amount of each color, leather type, and size, we suggest booking earlier spots to ensure you have the most options to choose from. Due to limited availability, customers are limited to two customized leather binders per person (1 binder for each appointment time slot), subject to change based on sales availability. If you are too late to the appointment timeslot, we may forfeit your spot to the next customer.

PLOTTER Corner Hardware Customization Event
A special corner hardware customization event will be introduced for the first time at PLOTTER USA. Embellish your PLOTTER with corner hardware in four colors: matte gold, pink gold, matte silver, and matte black. This event will be available for a fee ($16, excluding tax) for a set of four corner parts. This customization will be available for customers on a first come first served basis at the PLOTTER table from 2/16 – 2/18, while supplies last.
Please note that only the Shrink leather series is not eligible for this service. Due to the limited quantity of hardware, each customer can customize up to 2 leather binders, maximum.
FLAX Pen to Paper Pop-up Event – February 19th

FLAX Pen to Paper is a family-owned stationery store that offers a curated selection of fine writing instruments, bespoke and boxed paper goods, notebooks, and gifts for every occasion. As its name indicates, the store is passionate about encouraging users to put pen to paper and enjoy the excitement of analog and writing.
PLOTTER will be holding a pop-up event at FLAX Pen to Paper on 2/19/2024 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. At the event, you can learn more about the PLOTTER system with staff from PLOTTER Japan and USA team, and attend a casual seminar about how to use PLOTTER in your daily routine. The PLOTTER team will also be bringing a limited quantity of Event Limited Refill Memo Pads, Limited Edition Foil Stamping Notepads, leather binder customization service.
FLAX Pen to Paper will be selling the iconic Pueblo Leather Binder line up in A5, Bible, and Mini Size, as well as the full lineup of Refill Memo Pads and Refill Storage. We look forward to meeting you at FLAX Pen to Paper!
